Activities for the Development of Fine Motor Skills
- Playing with constructor sets or cubes – the cubes can be put one next to one other or on top of each other (3–6 years).
- Puzzles – at the beginning it is good to help the child piece together the individual elements (3–6 years).
- Drawing – with pencils / crayons / water colors / felt tip pens / fingers (3–6 years).
- Playing with plasticine (or homemade dough) (3–6 years).
- Coloring books – as the movements of the hand become gradually more precise, the child starts using more colors and associates painting with representations of real objects, e.g. – grass – green, sky – blue etc. (4–6 years).
- Stringing beads (the beads can be replaced with macaroni; the child can color them before stringing them) (4–6 years).
- Playing on musical instruments – sounds additionally stimulate and engage children’s attention (3–6 years).
- Sorting different objects by their type/colour etc. – beads, buttons, grains (beans, peas, corn, lentils) (3–5 years).
- Cut and paste activities (4–6 years).
- Natural materials collages – leaves, sticks, grains which can be glued to a piece of paper (4–6 years).
- Connecting the dots / tracing (4–6 years).
- Clipping with paper clamps and pegs (4–6 years).
